Some of the biggest names in men’s cricket will be on display when eight teams compete in the 17th edition of the Asia Cup, hosted in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 9 to 28, 2025.
The 20-day tournament will feature 19 matches across Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with defending champions India aiming to extend their dominance.
Which teams are playing?
Alongside the five full members of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) — India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan — three associate nations have qualified: Hong Kong China, Oman, and hosts UAE.

- Group B: Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Hong Kong
What’s the format?
- Group Stage: Two groups of four; top two teams advance.
- Super Four: Four teams play in a round-robin format.
- Final: The top two meet on September 28 in Dubai.
This format guarantees blockbuster matchups, including the chance of three possible India vs Pakistan encounters — in the group stage, Super Four, and the final.
